Fourth Transnational Meeting, April 2020

Our Fourth Transnational Meeting took place via Skype on 22-23 April, due to the ongoing lockdown. Despite the difficult circumstances we are currently facing, this meeting gave the partnership chance to assess the progress of our project and set deadlines for the rest of 2020. We discussed the development of our 'Gender Champion' skills profile, as well as ways to boost the dissemination of our outputs. The second day allowed us to analyse initial feedback from the piloting of our Benchmarking Tool, which enables VET (Vocational Education and Training) professionals to assess gender inclusivity in their workplace. We are all looking forward to the next sixth months of working together on this innovative project!

Third Transnational Meeting in Nova Gorica, Slovenia,

November 2019

Our Third Transnational Meeting was hosted by LUNG in Nova Gorica, Slovenia on 5-6 November 2019. Project partners discussed the completion of the Gender+ Charter and ways to disseminate these guidelines which set out the minimum requirements VET (Vocational Education and Training) organisations must adhere to in order be gender inclusive. This Charter has fed into the development of a digital Benchmarking Tool which allows educators to rate their organisation's level of gender inclusivity and track improvement over time. The first version of this tool was presented to partners at the meeting and will be piloted in early 2020. The final part of our meeting in Slovenia involved the presentation of the third and final output of the project - the Gender Champion skills profile. This HR document will be a key tool in ensuring delivery of gender inclusive training programmes.

Second Transnational Meeting

in Nicosia, Cyprus

May 2019

Our Second Transnational Meeting was hosted by CSI in Nicosia, Cyprus on 21 May 2019. The partnership presented the findings of their national reports into gender inclusion: we discussed the findings of our interviews with policymakers, advocacy groups and VET leaders, presented evidence of best practices in the field and highlighted policies and approaches currently implemented, as well as conducting a SWOT analysis of gender inclusion in each partner country. The results of this research form the groundwork for the Gender+ Charter being produced. We spent the second half of the project meeting brainstorming ideas for the development of our next project output, the Gender Footprint Benchmarking Tool – read more about this interactive resource in the ‘Outputs’ section of our website.

Kick-off Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria

January 2019

BFE hosted the kick-off meeting of the Gender+ project, which took place in Sofia on 14-15 January 2019. The partnership discussed the state of gender inclusion in the partners' countries, as well as the opportunities for and challenges to a more embracing training provision. The coordinator aspire-igen facilitated an Impact+ workshop which helped the partnership set key milestones and success indicators. In the next few months, the consortium will conduct desk research and field interviews to identify best practices and emergent trends across Europe. Based on these findings, the partnership will develop the Gender+ Charter which will set out the minimum requirements an organisation needs to conform to in order to consider its provisions gender positive.
